It is no secret that a snitch is, uniformly, one of the most hated people among any circle; whether it be in the business world, an exclusive club, a religious organization, a street-organization (so-called gang) or in the every day social setting.
In recent years, the snitch phenomenon has reached epidemic proportions, and has gone virtually unabated, leaving many casualties in its wake. So, herein we will attempt to shed some light on this putrid phenomenon and its many variants.
Webster’s dictionary describes a snitch as an INFORMANT, TO TURN INFORMER, TO SQUEAL ON SOMEONE. . A snitch is known by many other relative titles: STOOL PIGEON, FINK, RAT, TURNCOAT, TRAITOR, et al. However, no matter the title the ultimate end is BETRAYAL!

The most commonly known snitch is the so-called LAW ABIDING CITIZEN, who routinely cooperates with the established authority out of a pseudo sense of duty; and genuinely feel in their hearts that they’re doing THE RIGHT THING. Th. So-called LAW ABIDING CITIZEN views anyone who doesn’t abide by the laws set up and enforced by the established authority, as a criminal. Of course their definition of CRIMINAL, much like all their other views, Is manufactured and readily provided to them by the established authority. The ESTABLISHED AUTHORITY In this instance is the Amerikkkan government.
The so-called LAW ABIDING CITIZEN (in this context) is a slave (mentally). The so-called LAW ABIDING CITIZEN functions, (in most cases) unwittingly, as a servant of the oppressive Amerikkkan government. And, because of their induced state of amnesia, they have forgotten that the government and Draconian laws, which they so obediently adhere to, is founded on the kidnap, rape, murder, and enslavement of Afrikan (Black) people. Not to mention the mass slaughter of the Natives (so-called Indians), and the illegal seizure of their (this) land; Thereby rendering the Amerikkkan government the PROTOTYPICAL CRIMINAL, which inturn gave birth to the so-called LAW ABIDING CITIZEN. To abide by & comply with the laws contrived & perpetuated by the ORIGINAL CRIMINAL literally makes one an agent of said criminal, thus a criminal themselves!
And, since white folks are the primary beneficiaries of the spoils, they are serving their overall interests when they cooperate with the established authority. Conversely, when nonwhite people cooperate with the government, in the spirit of being a LAW ABIDING CITIZEN or otherwise, especially against one’s endemic ethnic group, makes one not only a snitch, but a traitor!
Such was the case with two of the Black Power Movement’s most beloved soldiers: comrade Mark Clark and comrade Fred Hampton, who was brutally gunned down by the FBI and the Chicago police department, after being provided blueprint schematics of their safe-house by a snitch. A traitor!

In fact, many Black Power soldiers were either assassinated or imprisoned with the collaborative efforts of snitches. In many cases these snitches were strategically infiltrated into Black Power organizations viz THE BLACK PANTHER PARTY, THE NATION OF ISLAM, THE BLACIC LIBERATION ARMY et al. Some were MOLES who sat and grew within these Black Power organizations, and reported the plans and activities of these respective organizations to the established authorities. Others were AGENT PROVOCATEURS; Whose sole purpose was to initiate & agitate dissension, and to cause disorder within the ranks. Also to provoke trouble, to (in effect) expose the organization to being CRIMINALIZED to justify these organizations destruction at the hands of the government. The LAW ABIDING CITIZEN is a ventriloquist of the established authority. He or she has been (in effect) converted into an auxiliary human surveillance camera for the oppressor. The LAW ABIDING CITIZEN is the quintessential snitch!

THE OPPORTUNIST SNITCH:
The opportunist snitch is one who is absolutely devoid of loyalty. He/she will betray anyone, and anything to aggrandize, him or herself. Such a snitch is neither here nor there in terms of commitment. He/she is a double agent, a chameleon, who blends in with his or her environment or respective group for personal favor. Much like the proverbial YARD-SLAVE in the dreadful days of chattle slavery. On the slave plantation, the slaves were recognized in three different categories: THE HOUSE-SLAVE, THE FIELD-SLAVE and the seldom talked about YARD-SLAVE. There was a distinct line between the field-slaves and the house-slaves. But the yard-slaves were more difficult to figure out because of their many levels of transparency and feigned loyalty. To gain favor with the slave master they would often snitch on the field-slaves about plans to run away, planned rebellions, etc. Likewise, the yard-slave would also provide information about the slave master to the field-slaves to give the field-slaves the impression that he/she was REALLY with them. Of course the yard-slave’s TIPS were anonymous with both parties. The yard-slave would often receive frivolous trinkets for snitching; a piece of chicken and maybe a buttered biscuit. The YARD-SLAVE was given such title because he/she functioned between the field-slave and the slave master.
He/she is aptly known today as the OPPORTUNIST SNITCH. The times have changed but the characteristics & motives are the same. The OPPORTUNIST SNITCH is essentially a two—faced coward!
The opportunist snitch is one who will run to the police to settle his/her scores rather than handle it him or herself; even the so-called street evil gangster. Also, if observed closely, the so-called street level gangster who displays a conspicuous love for his/her fancy cars, clothes gaudy jewels above his/her love, loyalty & commitment to his or her family, friends 1 associates is likely to betray his/her family, friends & associates in favor of said clothes, cars & jewels; even snitch if necessary!
And, since most people worship materialism they often make the fatal mistake of rendering someone COOL or THOROUGH, not by their characters, principle and merit of loyalty, but by the cars they drive, the clothes & jewelry they wear and a host of other surface facades.
The opportunist snitch is utterly selfish. He/she is inherently motivated by wanton narcissism. He/she doesn’t regard any group or social interests above his/her own. He/she will betray anyone to those, who can best serve his/her (personal) interests.
Historically speaking: it was the opportunist snitch who squealed on comrade Gabriel Prosser. Gabriel Prosser was a Freedom Fighter; who was planning a massive slave revolt on plantation, throughout the state of Virginia, back in the 1800’s. But it was halted before it even got off the ground. The slave master was tipped off; and comrade Gabriel Prosser was charged with sedition, convicted, and immediately hanged. ALL BECAUSE OF SNITCHES!
Nevertheless, over 30 years later he (Gabriel Prosser) gained redemption incarnated in comrade Nat Turner, who led a relatively successful revolt in South Hampton, Virginia. It should be noted that comrade Nat Turner was meticulous in weeding out and avoiding snitches. Undoubtedly, a lesson learned from his predecessor?
A more popular scenario is the story of JUDAS ISCARIOT, who was one of Jesus’ most trusted disciples. He snitched on Jesus to the Centurion (Roman police) for 30 pieces of silver. JUDAS was the epitome of the opportunist snitch.
In this day & time, and in this dog-eat-dog society (Amerikkka), the opportunist snitch is given more & more opportunity to snitch, with lesser & lesser repercussion or punishment. It is often said that we’re living in the “INFORMATION AGE” where informants are in high demand; and, where information can either make you or break you (depending on how it is used).
The snitch phenomenon is a by-product of this INFORMATION BOOM, especially since most of the information is largely required & controlled by the government. The Amerikkkan government breeds informants with the offer of money, deception and also as a way out of so-called illegal situations where there is more than one so-called perpetrator in an alleged crime, In such situations lies are always used to bolster the government’s justification to criminalize, prosecute and ultimately do away with their intended target.
The absence of punishments being awarded to snitches is even reflective in the government’s protection of snitches, as it has gotten lax. There used to be a strict policy of confidentiality provided for snitches who cooperated with the government. Hence: CONFIDENTIAL INFORMANT; as well as the WITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM. In recent years, these protections have become increasingly obsolete with the lack of repercussion meted out to snitches.
An example of this can be seen in the situation with the infamous “SAMMY THE BULL” who snitched on his so-called boss John Gotti. Sammy was excused of 13 (admitted) murders in exchange for ratting on the so-called boss of the Gambino crime family. Sammy eventually returned to the streets (unprotected). He was even arrested again for allegedly trafficking in illicit narcotics. He apparently had no fear at reprisal. And, the fact that he is still alive is a testament of the perilous times in which we live. Also, it opened the flood-gates for a plethora of so-called wise-guy types opting to cooperate with the government as a way of doing business. In this context, the once sacred code of OMERTA (CODE OF SILENCE) is a relic, and only exists as mere folklore in the annals of so-called mafia history.
Another example can be found in the situation with the infamous Rodney “FROG” CARSON who cooperated with the government against his so-called boss, Aaron Jones, the alleged, leader of the JJNIOR BLACK MAFIA (JBM).
And, in spite of the fact that FROG is a well known snitch in the ghettos of Philadelphia, he is still in Philadelphia (unprotected). The fact that he is still living is nothing short of blasphemy to anybody who claims to be thorough.
In a broader scope, snitching has become an accepted social reality; an open secret! The PRINT, RADIO, INTERNET, & TELEVISION media openly encourages snitching; most notably: AMERIKKKA’S MOST WANTED. This show along with its many local tip hot-lines attempts to place an honorable mask on an otherwise abhorred, shameful face of betrayal. To associate with known snitches is to share a tacit complicity of sorts by virtue of failing to strongly condemn it (in whatever form the situation calls for). Nevertheless, the very least that can be done is that the snitch by exposed to others who are not aware of them, and urge disassociation with them.
In the mid 18OO’s, at the height of the famous UNDERGROUND RAILROAD escape led by comrade sister Harriet Tubman, there arose many opportunist snitches who attempted to seize upon the opportunity to gain favor (and other paltry trinkets) from the slave master by divulging the names of the leaders and their escape routes. Said snitches were swiftly punished and (in some cases) put to death. Such actions was not out of malice but as a necessity, to protect the whole group, and to maintain a sense of secrecy on the railroad to freedom!
Failure to exact such action would have indubitably resulted in the death of all involved. A snitch is a detriment to any respectable group. A snitch should be shunned, condemned, and (in most cases) returned back to the essence ZZZ!

It is often (rhetorically) uttered that a person (who snitches) “has snitch in their blood,” or is “a born snitch” etc. Such prattle is hollow, and is rooted in thin air. The reality is much like other characteristics that manifest themselves in the behavioral patterns of a people (especially a subjugated people), It is created by the dominating group; transmuted through externally influenced conditions, and incubated within the circumference of the controlled vicissitudes of a pre-fabricated milieu.
Simply put, an informant Is the by-product of his/her environment. Which then begs the question of: who is it that creates & controls the conditions of said environment? The answer is an obvious one, as it is no big secret that, white controlled oligarchical Amerikkkan government openly wields its power over the macrocosmic environment and clearly benefits the most from informants.
However, even under an oligarchical, white power structure such as this one (Amerikkka), there exists what is commonly referred to as a SUB-CULTURE. This so-called subculture encompasses the many respective ethnic groups that comprises this environment:
e.g. the Russian community, the Latin community, China town, Little Italy, the Black Colony (Ghetto), et al. And within these, respective so-called sub-cultural, ethnic groups exists a core code of conduct that traditionally condemns snitching.
There used to be a time when, within the (Black) community there was an overall atmosphere of condemnation at snitching and other foreign social taboos that occasionally infiltrated the culture via, but not limited to, the various forms of media mentioned earlier.
Judging from the proliferation of snitching among Black people (in particular), we have obviously abandoned our old traditions, thereby allowing the snitch mentality to fester and permeate the culture. The URBAN GRIOTS or so-called old-heads have been silent and inactive in their condemnation of this shameful behavior, thus leaving the culture vulnerable to the influences of the ubiquitous governmental power structure, to be fashioned into a snitch sub-culture, in service of the dominant white oligarchy!
On a more mundane level, a snitch can be made or created; especially in a so-called (common) criminal situation, by coercion, trickery, and plain ol’ elementary psychological manipulation. For example: Recently, while reading the daily news paper, I came across a story of a male & a female who was charged as codefendants in a drug case. The news paper reported that the female defendant was removed from her jail cell in the middle of the night and taken to the local federal building. The paper went on to say that she was “purportedly” trying to cut a deal with the government, in exchange for testifying against her codefendant. Of course the feds were the ones who provided this bogus information to the news paper in the first place. However, since it was not a confirmed fact that she was really intending to cooperate, the paper cleverly used the word PURPORTEDLY to both protect themselves from civil liability, and to camouflage their deceptive intent, which was to play upon the oversight of the casual reader. Notice that the word PURPORTED looks and sounds Iike REPORTED. But they differ in meaning: purported means rumored. And, since people (in general) tend to believe everything they read in the paper (on face value), they (the feds) knew it would place her in the spot light of suspicion and distrust among her peers, especially her codefendant. The tactic worked!
Once she was released on bail, she (as well as her family) was met with death threats and the scorn of her peers. She was then contacted by the (FBI) agent assigned to the case, who expressed to her that he was aware of the perception of her friends and the death threats against her & her family. The agent told her that she might as well cooperate, now, since everybody already thinks she is a snitch. She eventually succumbed, and became a government witness against her codefendant. She felt like she was put in a damned if I do, damned if I don’t situation, which without her knowledge, was initiated, & precipitated by the government.
The Amerikkkan government has a sordid history of manipulating information & situations to place targeted individuals in the shadow of ill repute among their respective peers, groups, organizations, etc. Such BROWNMAIL tactics were employed against one of the Black Power Movements most charismatic soldiers, comrade Kwame Ture (formally known as Stokely Carmichael). The government’s COUNTER INTELLIGENCE PROGRAM (COINTELPRO) heeded by then FBI director, J. Edgar Hoover, spread a vicious rumor among the Black Revolutionary community that comrade Kwame Ture was an informant. This was done in an effort to cause Black Power organizations to shy away from him. However, rather than shrink from or succumb to such spurious detractions, he openly challenged the government to prove it. Needless to say they couldn’t, as a lie always shrinks in the presence of truth.
Comrade Kwame Ture’s reputation was promptly restored. And he continued to struggle on behalf of Black people here in Amerikkka and in the diaspora, until he eventually succumbed to cancer, which was purported to be at the hands of the C.I.A., TO SILENCE HIS STRONG VOICE!

Another more familiar tactic which believe it or not, is still used today with unbelievable success is the classic method of separating two (or more) so-called co-conspirators and leading the other(s) through lies & deceit, to believe that the other(s) are willing to cooperate. Thereby eliciting definitive testimony from at least one against the other(s).Thus the making of a snitch! Nowadays this shameful form of RATTING is called GETTING DOWN FIRST!

THE LOOSE LIPS SNITCH
The loose lips snitch is more so stupid (albeit negligent) than malicious. He is usually uncultured, and fond of prattling. A secret is inconsequential to him. His reckless babbling often results in trouble for people other than himself. He simply doesn’t know what to say, how to say it, why to say it, when to say it, where to say it, nor whom to say it to. The loose lips snitch is usually of insignificant stature in terms of his standing within his respective circle; so he takes great pleasure in (openly) discussing other peoples business in public. His pseudo sense of importance is measured by him being privy to (in most cases) distorted pieces of information, deemed arcane relative to his empty life. The loose lips snitch is the #one purveyor of rumors!
The loose lips snitch doesn’t see himself as a snitch, which essentially renders him dangerous. His unscrupulous insensitivity to secrecy makes him, unwittingly, a courier of (often false) information, at the behest of whoever chooses to use his big mouth. He can easily become an agent, unbeknownst to his own self. He gives credence to the old adage: “LOOSE LIPS SINKS SHIPS”

THE DRY SNITCH
This is the snitch that does so in such a sly & indirect manner, so as to both absolve himself of the guilt of doing it flat out, as well as to maintain an abextra appearance of being a stand up individual. He is well aware that snitching is wrong & shameful; this is why such tacit gestures are employed. He bears striking similitude to the opportunist snitch in that his motives are often self-centered, but functions more so from an uncontrollable, emotional impulse.
Recently, I saw an incident on the television show COPS, where two young Black men were pulled over by the police for what appeared to be DWB (Driving While Black). At any rate, they were both ordered from the vehicle; at which time one of the (white) officers searched the two men while the other searched the vehicle, the officer searching the car found a handgun. Both men were subsequently handcuffed. The officer asked one of the young men who did the gun belong to, and the young man replied: “it’s his car, ask him” referring to the other young men. He apparently didn’t want to flat out snitch, but he didn’t want to go to jail either. However, he said: “it’s his car….’ so as to imply the gun must be his as well. Although dry, he snitched nonetheless! He should have just kept his mouth shut!

THE JAILHOUSE SNITCH
The jailhouse snitch is a combination of the opportunist snitch, the loose lips snitch and the dry snitch. He is the ultimate pariah!
Because prisons are inherently condensed, microcosmic, sub-societies, it is virtually impossible for a snitch to maintain complete anonymity. Unlike the more macrocosmic or (so called open society), paranoia & suspicion is on a perpetual high: mainly of the forced co-existence in a multi-ethnic, artificial environment.
So the slightest fraternization between prisoner & captor (prison official) can easily be perceived as a subtle capitulation on the part of the prisoner, and can result in said prisoner being excommunicated from his respective ethnic or general social group. How ever, once a prisoner is definitively identified as a snitch he is usually dealt with in a more corporal manner (depending on the circumstances and the prison). In a clinical context: the prisoner who openly befriends his captor can be classified under the STOCKHOLM SYNDROME, which is defined as a developed emotional attachment to a captor formed by a prisoner as a result of stress, prolonged dependence and a need to cooperate for survival. However, if this Stockholm Syndrome isn’t counterbalanced with the real threat of punishment or death (depending on the circumstances), it will eventually contaminate the whole population in some form or another. It is a virtual cancer that (in this context) if not cut out immediately, will threaten the entire body (politic) of the denizens of said condensed environment.
Because prisons (in America) are almost completely staffed & run by racist white people, who see their job as the perfect opportunity to unmask their innate hatred, and to perpetuate their petty, personal racist agendas against nonwhite people who, by the way, make up the large majority of the prisons populations, any prisoner (especially nonwhite) found cooperating with said racist white captors is doubly detested (and rightfully so) as it represents the ultimate act of betrayal, in favor of the repression of the already oppressed!
And the few Black officials who work on these modern day slave ships (on dry land) are often seven times worse than their white colleagues. They are the neo-overseers for the neo-slave masters.
Traditionally, in the prison environment snitches are almost always relegated to a special PROTECTIVE CUSTODY unit for a legitimate fear of being either injured or killed nowadays they are more fluent in the general populations. They are even used as witnesses in court. They are often strategically placed in the same cell or general living quarters of a pretrial defendant to gather information about a pending case, at the behest of the DA’s office, in exchange for leniency in their own cases. However, recently, the Pennsylvania Supreme court ruled that the testimony of a jail-house snitch is inadmissible in court.

Still, as the old-school rules go, don’t discuss your case (or any other incriminating information) with anybody. If you do so after this clear warning, you do so at your own, risk!

RESOLUTION
America’s prisons are filled with most of our best Brothers and Sisters, serving lengthy sentences (some on DEATH-ROW) because of snitches. And this will continue to be the fate of our people if so-called thorough individuals just stand around, doing nothing about it. Or worse, if snitches are made to feel comfortable & accepted by so-called thorough individuals. There should always be chastisements for snitches!
In an effort to reverse the putrid cycle of snitching, the young have to be taught against it; and shown (by example) the virtues of loyalty. After all, we don’t want the next generation to be raised in a vacuum of nil instruction. If we neglect our duty it’ll eventually come back to haunt us in the long run (and rightfully so).
I propose that all known snitches be ostracized & exiled from the ‘hood. And if they’re caught in the ‘hood they should be punished. Pictures (or snipe style posters) of known rats posted throughout the ‘hood. This also goes for pedophiles (child molesters), child killers, as well as those who prey upon the elderly and the disabled. If they perform these acts in the ‘hood they should be punished in the hood by the ‘hood! The racist police, establishment should never come into the equation. Web sites should be formed (guerilla-style) to inform the (concerned) public of snitches; revealing their identities, whereabouts, etc. (www.snitch.com). Their entire profiles are of public record once they cooperate with the (racist) established authority!
There should be nowhere for them to hide, a snitch should never be able to do it twice. There should be more fear of the ‘hood than that of the racist police establishment!
